Life-Depleting Symptoms
I seem to have many life-depleting symptoms: low energy, weight gain, and anxiety. What is going on?
Over the 29 years of my professional practice, I have seen your symptoms - as well hair thinning, belly fat, and depression - on an alarming rise. City life is challenging to our bodies: we were not meant for the degree of modern stresses we experience daily. This puts pressure on our adrenals to work overtime, and then our thyroids try to pick up the adrenal slack and fatigue. Next, the pancreas picks up the slack and also gets fatigued. This syndrome (which I call tri-organ fatigue syndrome, or TFS) is the cause of massive cellular inflammation. Inflammation is at the root of all disease.
So - what to do about it? Nutritionally, proteolytic enzymes and essential fatty acids are naturally anti-inflammatory; avoid irritating foods/fluids/habits. And supplement with an effective anti-oxidant (if you want sources, you can email me).
Just as important as the physical is the emotional and spiritual. Stress is here to stay, unfortunately, but we can change our response to stressors, which will help our physical bodies deal with the bio-chemical aspects of stress. For instance, regular yoga exercise will help the body to release stress and the emotional/spiritual body to heal. You may benefit from expert analysis of your work and life habits. You may look to re-program some ingrained subconscious thoughts that perpetuate your internal stress-causing anxiety (which is physically inflammatory), with methods such as hypnosis. And you might try incorporating something relaxing at least once a month, like a massage.
There are many, many ways to increase your quality of life as well as feel great and look younger, since the reduction of inflammation will affect your health, happiness and appearance!
